Maitland Kalton

Maitland Kalton, English solicitor and New York attorney, founded Kaltons, now a niche technology firm, in 1988.

He speaks conversational French, Spanish and Thai.

Maitland is a passionate, energetic leader who loves people and believes that everyone has something unique to contribute in life: he is uncompromising in seeing the best in people and bringing it out of them, whether with clients, colleagues, friends or family. His favourite pastime is writing (prose and verse) and he recently launched his first book of verse ("Love in Abundance") and has material for 3 more almost ready to publish.

He is also working on paradigms for business and other relationships in the Twenty-First Century and (jointly with his friend and China intercultural expert, Joan Turley) on doing business in China.

He has been experimenting with innovative dispute resolution options such as "assisted communication" designed to nip issues in the bud and save much of the grief and cost associated with litigation. He has also been focusing on the importance of creating effective business relationships by getting people clear about underlying vision, objectives and values in business - see his relationship questionnaire which you may print off for your own use but not for commercial exploitation.

For examples of his approach, see his blog: www.latentlawyer.blogspot.com
